THE GALLERY  by WISH is pleased to present a group exhibition titled TRPL-DBL.  A triple-double is defined as a performance in which a player accumulates a double digit number total in three of five statistical categories— points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots—in a game.

This is an experiment, a game if you will, where artists Jurell Cayetano, FRKO and Gerald Lovell come together collaborating, bouncing ideas and inspiring each other to create this unique exhibition. From the day to day experiences of what being a young black man in the South means to pop culture and media influences; they take on these experiences that have shaped who they are today.  Jurell, FRKO and Gerald mix dark humor and tenderness to present to us a series of raw intimate moments that celebrate the wins, the loses, the taking chances and the fear of not knowing your next move.

In this game, each of the artists takes on a different position. FRKO uses his past experiences and imagination to create raw and dark works covered in humor. He acts as the Initial Scorer. With heavy paint application in thick layers on portraits of people with a strong presence in his life, Gerald acts as the Rebounder. By showcasing the everyday life of those around him and letting their strength take center stage, Jurell acts as the Assister.
